Nearby Amboise, François I set up a little estate for Leonardo DaVinci and gave him a large budget to just do cool stuff. Now days they let jerks like me rummage around what is now called the Clos Lucé, go figure. The main garden has been turned into a tribute to DaVinci's designs, including this battle tank, which must have been futuristic at the time.
